FROM NEEDS TO SOLUTIONS
Advancing quality control with 360° view lenses technology
Need addressed: inspecting a wide range of defect types (over 30) on high variable metal, plastic, and rubber components to meet specific industrial production.
In modern industrial manufacturing, ensuring fast, reliable, and flexible quality inspection is increasingly challenging due to growing product variability and production speed.
To meet these demands, Maddox AI developed an AI powered vision system capable of performing 360° surface inspections on complex metal, plastic, and rubber components. The solution combines advanced AI software with Opto Engineering® 360° view lenses and high performance illumination to detect a wide range of defects with high accuracy. The integrated system delivers robust, cost effective, and high-throughput quality control for demanding industrial applications.

New ITALA Firmware (v3.2.1) now available: faster performance, smarter control
The new firmware v3.2.1 released for ITALA industrial cameras introduces significant improvements in speed, robustness, and system integration.
This update enhances overall performance and adds advanced features designed to simplify integration and increase reliability in demanding industrial environments.
Key updates:
🔵 Low Latency Acquisition
Drastically reduces the time between end of exposure and image availability. Ideal for high-speed and low-latency applications.
🔵 Enhanced GPIO Input Management
Improved noise immunity, debounce, and new de-glitch function ensure reliable triggering even in electrically noisy environments.
🔵 TriggerDelay with Integrated FIFO
Internal buffer (up to 63 triggers) prevents trigger loss when delay exceeds trigger rate.
🔵 Sequencer with Burst Mode
Acquire multiple frames with different settings using a single trigger. Perfect for multi-exposure and advanced inspection tasks.
🔵 Sensor Temperature Monitoring
New EventTemperature feature (normal, high, overheat) enables proactive detection of overheating conditions.
🔵 New GEV Events for Diagnostics
Additional events provide better control, easier integration, and improved visibility into camera operation.

SOFTWARE
OEVIS now with advanced customization features ONNX-Based Deep Learning Tools
You can now load and deploy deep learning models trained in PyTorch or TensorFlow through native ONNX support, combining AI inference with rule-based inspection, all in a single platform.
- What is ONNX?
ONNX (Open Neural Network eXchange) is an open format for representing Machine Learning and Deep Learning models, supported by major development platforms like PyTorch and TensorFlow.
Opto Engineering machine vision software OEVIS® can load ONNX AI models and execute inference natively (running on NVIDIA® GPU and or CPU).
- Key Advantages
The main advantage of the ONNX format is that it uses specialized inference engines, called ONNX Runtimes, to run trained deep learning models efficiently across a wide range of environments, now including OEVIS.
-Full flexibility: use custom or pretrained open-source AI models without vendor lock-in
-Combine AI with rule-based image processing
-Fast development thanks to thousands of existing models from PyTorch Hub, TensorFlow Hub and HuggingFace.
- Interesting for: System Integrators & partners with expertise in deep learning looking to combine AI inference with classical rule-based inspection routines (such as measurement and blob detection) in an integrated development environment
- Example of use: Detect thin scratches on metal plates by preprocessing with morphological filters in OEVIS®, then loading & running an ONNX-based defect detection AI model and analyze the results directly in the OEVIS® workflow
