Although accessories are often considered optional, they are in fact essential to many applications, in order to use a product efficiently or even enhance its performance.

Opto Engineering’s extensive range of accessories has been designed and selected to ensure hassle-free, quick integration of our imaging components into your vision system.

Our accessories perfectly round out our catalogue and have been specifically tested in combination with our products to maximize their performance.

Our selection includes cables, camera accessories, mounting mechanics, filters, protective windows, first surface mirrors and beam splitters, calibration patterns and projection patterns in addition to LED strobe controllers and lens controllers.

Optical filters

Light filtering to select a given set of wavelengths is a typical need in machine vision applications. Optical filters can improve the contrast of the features of the inspected product by blocking unwanted light. Opto Engineering offers an extensive range of optical filters, from infrared to UV, compatible with a wide choice of lenses of various diameters.

Cables

Opto Engineering offers a selection of cables for powering and controlling illuminators, lenses, cameras and controllers. All our cables satisfy industrial standards of robustness and service life.

Controllers for LED illuminators and lenses

Opto Engineering offers a wide range of LED illuminator controllers, designed for precisely setting the current intensity, pulse duration and delay of machine vision LED illuminators (whether strobed, pulsed or continuous). Our high performance controllers are essential to obtaining uniform lighting and stable, repeatable performance in any machine vision system. Opto Engineering also offers controllers for our motorized lenses.

Accessories for lenses

Opto Engineering offers an extensive range of mounting mechanics for a variety of lenses: robust mechanical mounts, calibration patterns and special mounts with precision alignment mechanics for telecentric lenses in non-contact measurement applications.

These accessories include a full range of protective windows for telecentric lenses, mirrors and beam splitters to modify the optical path in restricted spaces, and spare parts for quickly replacing critical optical components.

Accessories for cameras

Opto Engineering offers dust and water resistant protective sleeves for lenses of various diameters for use in combination with our IP67 cameras, as well as adapters for lenses with different mounts.

Accessories for LED illuminators

Opto Engineering offers a variety of lighting accessories, including diffusers and polarizers. Diffusers improve the uniformity of the illumination, whereas polarizers can reduce unwanted reflections, especially when used in combination with a polarizing filter on the camera itself.
What is more, in order to facilitate the installation of LED illuminators in a machine vision system, we offer a series of brackets for holding the lights below, above or around the lens.
In addition, Opto Engineering also offers replacement LED modules for collimated illuminators and coaxial telecentric lenses.

Calibration and projection patterns

In metrology applications, calibration is a fundamental step in setting up a vision system; when high precision is required, simply having a good lens, a good camera and the correct illumination geometry is not enough. Although calibration is done in software, the calibration algorithms themselves require the use of special patterns.

Opto Engineering offers a wide range of calibration patterns designed to get the highest possible performance out of the system.

Opto Engineering also offers a selection of interchangeable chrome on glass patterns for LED projectors: lines for 3D profile measurement, grids and clouds of dots for stereoscopic vision applications, and simple cross patterns for precise alignment. We also provide custom patterns for projecting any desired form.
