The automotive industry is arguably the most traditionally associated with machine vision, with a wide range of possible applications. Today, electronics has penetrated virtually every field, and automotive is no exception: in this application case, ITALA® cameras from Opto Engineering® are used for quality control of courtesy light projector modules.
The assembly process of the courtesy light projector modules consists of three stages, each with a different setup: each one integrates an ITALA® camera with different optics and illuminators according to specific requirements. In addition, each setup also integrates our machine vision software for easy and efficient image processing.
The case
For a major automobile manufacturer, Robooptic designed a machine that is responsible for assembling and controlling the courtesy light projector modules that are mounted under the doors of a car. The machine does the assembly and control of these small modules.
