Artificial Vision course at the Faculty of Computer Engineering UNIMORE in Mantova

The collaboration between Opto Engineering and UNIMORE was born a few years ago from the desire of CEO Claudio Sedazzari to participate in the founding of the Computer Engineering course at the Mantua campus, aware of the importance of the link between the university world and the Mantua area.

This desire also starts from the awareness of the difficulty of getting in touch with young computer science graduates indispensable to technological industrial realities such as Opto Engineering and beyond.

In 2019, the University, recognizing important skills for the company to share, asked us to run a module on machine vision systems in the training path of students enrolled in the computer engineering degree program, and we did not hesitate to respond positively.

Sharing the project has several advantages: the consolidation of the relationship of a prestigious institute like UNIMORE is useful to identify young talents to be included in Opto Engineering, and other Mantuan and national companies, as well as glimpse possibilities for future technological start-ups.

From this collaboration, we expect that students will become passionate about machine vision topics, learn through our specialist Davide Soresina about the company Opto Engineering, an important reality in the national and international scene, and share skills in multidisciplinary technological sectors to develop future business projects.

"The objective of the course is to provide students with basic knowledge about machine vision systems, then make them understand what is happening in the world of industry and what kind of applications exist. So there is a first part that I will personally deal with focused on the hardware and whose goal will be to get to understand how to create an image of an object using all the components involved in this process (optics, cameras and illuminators)."
