Your application
The application consists in the top-down inspection of the stator to perform an accurate measurement of the distances between the various parts and to search for any defects in the winding process of copper wires around the iron cores.
OE® Imaging solutions
Due to the absence of perspective errors and the extended depth of field, telecentric lenses are the perfect solution for the inspection of stators, one of the main components of electric engines.

The case

Electric motors convert electrical energy into mechanical energy thanks to an electromagnetic phenomenon called induction. A simple configuration diagram is shown in Figure 1: apart from the outer frame, the two main components of the engine are the rotor and the stator.

The application

As we saw in the introduction, stators usually have wire windings around an iron core. These windings are typically made of copper and must be perfectly wound around each coil.
